About Pewsey Vale Bowls Club
The club was first formed in 1923 with just three rinks, situated behind the Greyhound Public House in the centre of the village. This is why a greyhound is the emblem of our club.
In 1953 we moved to the present site which gives us six rinks and a private clubhouse, with a fully licensed bar. There are ample car parking facilities alongside the green.
We are a mixed club with 60 men and 20 lady members plus a few social members. We are affiliated to Bowls England and Bowls Wiltshire, and are members of the Salisbury and District Association.
The men's section play in both the Salisbury & District triples league (Champions 2017) and the Wiltshire four rink league. The Ladies section plays in the Salisbury and District Triples league. Regular mixed friendly matches are also played against local clubs.
The club's season is from 1st May to 30th September, and we welcome new members at any time. Coaching is available for both beginners and experienced bowlers. Initially equipment is provided for beginners use by the club.
There are numerous club knockout competitions for members during the season, including fun competitions on the bank holidays. We hold a special competition open to all clubs on the first Sunday of the Pewsey Carnival fortnight, early in September.
The club's season is from 1st May to 30th September, and we welcome new members at any time. Coaching is available for beginners and, initially, equipment is provided for their use by the club.
Our Open Day for 2018 will be Sunday May 6th, and our Open Week will be Monday 7th to Friday 11th May - this is your opportunity to come along and try bowling - all you need is a pair of flat shoes.
Membership subscription is £80.00 per year (£30.00 for Juniors), payable 1st May.
As a member you can private hire the use of the Club House and bar and throughout the year we also hold regular social events for members and their guests.
The club is situated in Pewsey, a village in the middle of Wiltshire 7 miles south of Marlborough on the A345.
Clubs on tour are welcome with tea provided after the game if required. There are many good reasonably priced hotels within easy distance of the club.
